Opened in Rome in 1961 as construction of the Agostino Gemelli General Hospital began, the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery is today one of the most highly developed and specialised faculties within the university. Not only does the faculty train students to become physicians and surgeons specialising in diverse areas of medicine, it also produces highly qualified professionals in healthcare, biotechnology, cosmetology, and in healthcare economics and healthcare management.
